East Cooper Animal Hospital defines medical boarding as a service that is provided to patients that are in need of specialized care due to age, illness or surgical recovery.

Drop Off Appointments and Bathing are offered for your convenience Monday through Friday. Patients must be dropped off between the hours of 7:30am and 10:00am and can be picked up later the same day between the hours of 4:00pm and 6:00pm.

Drop Off, Bathing, Medical Boarding Requirements:

All patients admitted to East Cooper Animal Hospital for any period of time must meet the hospital’s examination, vaccination, laboratory and disease prevention requirements.

An annual physical exam must be preformed by a licensed veterinarian on staff at East Cooper Animal Hospital to establish that the patient is in good health.

Canine patients must be currently vaccinated for:

Rabies, Distemper, Leptosporosis and Bordetella.
Patients must be tested on an annual basis for heartworm disease and intestinal parasite infection.
Heartworm prevention and flea and tick prevention must be administered on a monthly basis year round.

Feline patients must be currently vaccinated for:

Rabies, Feline Distemper and Feline Leukemia.
Feline patients must be tested on an annual basis for Feline Leukemia/Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and intestinal parasite infection.
Heartworm prevention and flea and tick prevention must be administered on a monthly basis year round.

If fleas or ticks are found on any patient upon admittance to the hospital, the patient will receive treatment at the owner’s expense.
