Dr. Marci Sauls

Veterinarian and Practice Owner

Dr. Marci SaulsDr. Marci Sauls was born and raised in Aiken, South Carolina where she developed a love for animals from a very young age. She attended the University of South Carolina for undergrad and graduated from the University Of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. Dr. Sauls worked in several small animal practices and emergency clinics in North Carolina for 5 years and then moved to Atlanta, Georgia to practice for 10 years. She came to the Charleston area in 2010 and worked in Goose Creek and several local practices as a relief veterinarian. Dr. Sauls has dreamed of owning a veterinary practice for many years and she has decided to call Mt. Pleasant home. She has two 14 year old cats, Hobbes and Sal, and her newest addition is a rescued Walker Hound named Ellie Mae. Dr. Sauls’ special interests include dermatology, internal medicine and dentistry. She considers climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa with Young Life in 2012 and purchasing George Veterinary Clinic as two of her biggest accomplishments in life.

Dr. Artise Stewart


Artise StewartArtise Stewart was born and raised in north Alabama and grew up loving all types of animals! She attended The University of Tennessee for her undergraduate degree in Animal Science. She loved Tennessee so much she stayed for Veterinary School and graduated in 2005. She has lived and Seattle and Boston, working in small animal hospitals in both cities. She and her husband moved to Mount Pleasant in 2010 for her husbands job at Boeing. Since her move she attained her CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner) through one of two programs in the US. She provides physical therapy and rehabilitation services locally at Charleston Veterinary Referral Center. She is also an adjunct professor at Trident Technical College working with their Veterinary Technician Program. Other professional interests include dentistry, dermatology, osteoarthritis, and working with senior pets to improve their quality of life. She has two pets, Basil a golden hound mix, and Noah aka Pup Cat her rescued cat who acts like a dog. In her spare time she enjoys boating, checking out new local restaurants, watching college football, and traveling.

Kristin Levine


KristinKristin started working for East Cooper Animal Hospital in January of 2016.  Kristin was born in Salem, Virginia and spent her childhood traveling all over the world.  She grew up in a military family and her love for sightseeing stems from the numerous places she’s lived including the Netherlands and Germany.  She received her bachelor’s in microbiology in 2009 from Methodist University in North Carolina.  She has continued her education in veterinary medicine.  Kristin moved back to the Charleston area after nearly two years in Wyoming where she worked in a mixed animal practice.  She loves hiking and camping with her two Great Danes, Hank and Dexter.  Since moving back to Charleston she has become more involved with the local Great Dane rescue, where she adopted Dexter and hopes to serve as a foster home in the future.  She enjoys all areas of veterinary medicine, but really appreciates client education.  She feels that when veterinary staff and owners are communicating the patients benefit by receiving the highest level of care.

BrittanyBrittany Christ was born and raised in Mt. Pleasant, SC. She loves the water almost as much as she loves animals. Brittany obtained an Associate’s degree in Science from Trident Technical College and is currently working towards her Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology at the College of Charleston. She has two cats, Whiskers and Kitty-Kitty. Brittany’s hobbies include fishing, surfing, boating, going to the beach and pretty much anything else to do with water! She routes for USC during football season, “GO GAMECOCKS!” When asked what she likes most about the veterinary field she said, “I love everything about veterinary medicine!”

ChristinaChristina Christ grew up in Mt. Pleasant and loves living in the Lowcountry. She has always had a passion for animals which has lead to her ten years of experience in animal care and husbandry. Christina has two children, a son Matthew and a daughter Brittany. In her spare time she enjoys boating with her family. Christina’s special interest in veterinary medicine is providing hospice care to companion animal cancer patients. She is very happy to be a part of the ECAH team.



Daria Spratley was born in Manhattan, New York but has spent the majority of her life in Summerville, South Carolina. She has an associate in science, bachelors in nutrition, and an educational background in veterinary medicine. She has been a veterinary technician for eight years and is currently looking into pursing a Dariamasters degree in nutrition to fulfill her dreams of becoming a registered dietitian. Her love for animals inspired her to become a vegan and motivated her to peruse a career in didactics to promote alternative diets. Even though she is pursuing a degree in health care, she loves veterinary medicine, and does not plan to leave the profession anytime soon. Daria also currently works at a veterinary specialty practice where she has been an emergency technician for over seven years. Her interests in the veterinary field are nutrition, disease prevention, critical care, and client education. She loves animals and has three dogs, Legend, Frenchi and Boobu, two cats, Tricabobo and Dolce, and a rabbit Nucci. In her spare time Daria loves to travel, read nutrition books, shop, and spend time with family and friends.

Lauren S

Lauren Seuffert  started working at East Cooper Animal Hospital in September of 2015.  She is an animal lover all around, specializing in dogs.  She is a full time student at Charleston Southern University, going for a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology.  She plans on pursuing a career in the veterinary field or within animal research.  She has a miniature dapple dachshund named Mellie, who loves to run on the beach, dig holes and play soccer.


CAroline 2



Caroline Atkins started working at East Cooper Animal Hospital in May 2016. Caroline was born in St. Petersburg, Florida. She is a pre-veterinary, Honors college student at the College of Charleston pursuing a major in Biology with minors in Chemistry and English. She plans on pursuing a career as a small animal veterinarian. She has two Labrador retrievers, Ralphie and Winston. In her spare time, Caroline enjoys baking, going to the beach, and traveling.


LLauren Bauren Bolton started working at East Cooper Animal Hospital in October of 2015.  She will be graduating from Trident Technical College in May of 2017 with her Associates in Veterinary Technology.  Lauren was born in Knoxville, TN.  Before moving to Charleston, Lauren lived in Norman, Oklahoma.  During her time in Oklahoma she volunteered helping animals that were stranded as a result of the destructive tornado that hit the Moore, OK area in May of 2012.  During her free time, she loves taking her Doberman Chance and her Lab mix Maley to the beach, traveling to Tennessee to see family and watching the Vols play football, boating, and spending time with her husband and friends.
